BG²¶Óã's Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Students Score Above National Average

Students who enroll in Berkshire Community College (BG²¶Óã)'s Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program enjoy a higher graduation rate and pass the national licensure exam at a higher rate than the national average, BG²¶Óã announced today.

New Recording Studio Opens at BG²¶Óã

The Berkshires has long been a haven for creative professionals, including a wide variety of musicians. In the spirit of keeping that legacy alive, Berkshire Community College (BG²¶Óã) recently completed construction of a new recording studio in the Koussevitzky Arts Center.

BG²¶Óã awarded more than $250K in early education grant

-- The Commonwealth's Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) has awarded Berkshire Community College a Career Pathways Grant totaling $257,331 for the 2022 fiscal year. The grant funds tuition, fees and support for those pursuing a degree in higher education while working in the field of early education and care.

BG²¶Óã Receives Nearly $870,000 Allocation for SUCCESS

Berkshire Community College (BG²¶Óã) is pleased to announce it has received an allocation of $869,377 from the state legislature as part of a $16 million fund distributed to all 15 community colleges in the Commonwealth. The allocation is earmarked for the Supporting Urgent Community College Equity through Student Services (SUCCESS) Fund, which focuses on vulnerable populations. The funding, which was requested through the Massachusetts Association of Community Colleges (MACC), covers the period through June 30, 2022, but will likely be renewed if the program proves successful.

BG²¶Óã Institutes Debt Forgiveness Program

BG²¶Óã announces its plans to use $335,000 in federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) to erase outstanding balances accrued by students enrolled in credit degree or certificate programs from March 13, 2020 through May 31, 2021. HEERF funds were earmarked as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

BG²¶Óã Offers Community Health Worker Program

Berkshire Community College (BG²¶Óã) is pleased to announce that its Community Health Worker (CHW) non-credit certificate program is the first to be officially approved by the Massachusetts Board of Certification of Community Health Workers in Massachusetts. Completing an approved CHW training program is a requirement of becoming a certified community health worker in the Commonwealth.
